Adams, TN

Adams is a Robertson County city near the Kentucky line, with the Red River forming its northern and western edge. Red River Baptist Church was built on the river in 1791, and the settlement later grew around the Edgefield and Kentucky Railroad. The town first incorporated as Red River in 1869, took the name Adams Station for landowner James Reuben Adams, and simplified it to Adams in 1898. U.S. 41 and State Route 76 meet here. Adams is Middle Tennessee with an old church, a railroad name change, and a river at its back.
