Afton, IA

Afton is a quiet town of around 900 people tucked into the rolling farmland of southwest Iowa's Union County. Founded in the 1850s as a railroad stop and named after the Robert Burns poem "Sweet Afton," the community today is best known for its great access to the outdoors. Residents are just minutes away from both Three Mile Lake and Twelve Mile Lake, two regional favorites for fishing, boating, and camping.
