Alexander, NY

Alexander is a town in Genesee County, New York, United States. The 2020 census counted 2,491 residents. The town is named after Alexander Rea, an early settler, and is on the southern border of the county. Alexander includes a village also named Alexander. Alexander makes sense once you see how its past, landscape, and current gathering spots overlap. The useful thing to know about Alexander is that its older landmarks and current settings belong to one connected place. The next year he laid out a road, now Walnut Street and Route 98, north of the settlement. Tonawanda Creek, a tributary of the Niagara River, flows northward through the town. The southern town line is the border of Wyoming County.
