Tucked right alongside Garrett in DeKalb County, Altona is a quiet, friendly community in northeast Indiana. The town traces its roots back to the 1870s, when the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad spurred settlement across the region. Over the decades, it evolved from an early railroad stop into a peaceful residential pocket where people enjoy a relaxed, low-key setting.
