Amber, OK

Amber is a quiet, close-knit rural community in Grady County, sitting along State Highway 92 about eight miles north of Chickasha. With a population of around 450, it offers wide-open Oklahoma countryside and plenty of breathing room. The town was named in the early 1900s by railroad workers who noticed the goldenrod blooming across the fields in the fall. Much of the community comes together around the Amber-Pocasset school district, known locally as Am-Po.
