Amboy, MN

Amboy is a city in Blue Earth County, Minnesota, founded in 1879 beside the county's expanding railroad network. Shelby Township was organized in 1858, and the prairie land around the Blue Earth River helped draw agricultural settlement. A branch line of the St. Paul and Sioux City Railway reached the area in 1879, tying Amboy to the rail-era growth of southern Minnesota. The city later became associated with grains, livestock, and the broader Mankato region.
