About Andrews

Andrews is a Georgetown County town with a small section in Williamsburg County, 17 miles west of Georgetown along U.S. 521. The 2020 census counted 2,575 residents. Its older map was built by rail: Rosemary and Harpers Crossroads grew along the Georgetown and Western Railroad after service began in 1886, and the Seaboard Air Line added a route and maintenance shop in 1905. Robert F. Swinnie Airport sits two miles east of the central business district, while the highway bypasses the town to the south before entering its western side.

The town's civic map includes Andrews Elementary, Rosemary Middle, Andrews High, the Georgetown County library branch, and municipal water, sewer, fire, police, and public-works services. A town hall from the early 20th century now serves as a museum, keeping the railroad and lumber-era story close to the center. Andrews Heritage Festival returns as an annual town event. Today, Andrews is a two-county crossroads with a rail-built core, a small airport nearby, and daily routines tied to schools, municipal services, and Georgetown's regional connection.
