Antoine, AR

Antoine is a small town in Pike County, Arkansas, situated along the Antoine River. With a population of 113 at the 2020 census, the community traces its origins to the early nineteenth century, when it served as a stopping point on the old Southwest Trail to Texas. The fertile river valley attracted early settlers with its level farmland, and the town grew around a landmark gravesite near the river that guided travelers along the historic trail.
