Antoine, AR

Sitting along Highway 26 on the banks of the Antoine River, Antoine is a tiny Pike County town of around a hundred people. It originally started as a rest stop for travelers along the historic Southwest Trail, taking its name from an early French trapper whose riverside grave served as a landmark for pioneers. Today, life here is quiet and unhurried, surrounded by scenic timberlands, rolling farmland, and the slow-moving waters of the river.
