Arcadia, OH

Arcadia is a Hancock County village laid out in 1855 and probably named for Arcadia, Greece. State Route 12 runs past the modern school campus on the southwest side, a placement that reflects the village's long effort to gather scattered township schools into one center. Arcadia Local Schools organized its first high school in 1893; voters approved centralization in 1919, and the school building opened on its present site in the early 1920s. The school remains the largest everyday institution in the village.

The rest of Arcadia's map is compact: three churches hold regular events, the village council meets monthly at Town Hall, and the annual community garage sale and Lions Club bulletin board keep town notices visible. Work is represented by RPM Carbide Die, a manufacturer specializing in carbide and steel dies, alongside local retail at Arcadia Superette, which combines groceries and pizza. The village is close to Findlay for the wider Hancock County network, yet its own routines still gather around the school, churches, State Route 12, and a handful of long-running businesses.
