About Arena
Within the larger Town of Arena, the Village of Arena is the incorporated center of this Iowa County community. That distinction matters on the local map: the village has its own board, clerk-treasurer, streets, and public services, while the town surrounds it and also includes the unincorporated communities of Coon Rock and Helena. Village Hall on West Street and the homes along Oak, Willow, David Circle, and Dalogasa make up the municipal core, with Iowa County's larger county services based in Dodgeville.
Arena residents have put public spaces, community institutions, infrastructure, housing, economic development, and resident participation on the local agenda. The Community Park grew from a resident-led fundraising effort for land and equipment, giving local events a shared address. Monthly village-board meetings take place at Village Hall, keeping civic business close to the park and residential streets. Arena is a place where the legal map—town around village—also describes how government and everyday gathering spaces are arranged for village residents.
