About Arjay

Tucked along the Left Fork of Straight Creek, Arjay is a quiet, close-knit community in southeastern Kentucky's Bell County. It got its start in the early 1900s as a mountain coal camp named after local operator R. J. Asher. Today, home to fewer than 200 residents along Kentucky 66, it offers peaceful rural living surrounded by the rolling Appalachian hills.
