Anne Arundel Community College gives Arnold a 230-acre institutional center rather than a traditional downtown. Its main campus contains 12 academic buildings, a library, gymnasium, astronomy lab, nature trail, two art galleries, a 389-seat performing-arts center, and a 3,000-seat athletic field. The galleries are open to the public, and the 2026 calendar included student theater and dance, faculty jazz, concert-band performances, and other campus events. Around that campus, the Arnold census-designated place covered 10.82 square miles and had 24,064 residents in the 2020 census. College Parkway also carries Arnold's developing trail spine. The Broadneck Peninsula Trail is planned as roughly eight miles of paved path from the B&A Trail toward Sandy Point State Park, but it is not yet continuous. Open sections include 0.87 mile from Green Holly Drive to Peregory Park Place, with spurs to Broadneck Library and Broadneck Park, and a 0.84-mile connection from Jones Station Road at the B&A Trail to Peninsula Farm Road.

Other pieces were still under construction or designated for the future in 2026, including the crossing from the college toward the B&A Trail. Water access has its own practical conditions. Spriggs Farm Park opens onto the Magothy River with trails, picnic space, and a cartop launch, but drivers must request a gate code online. The carry from the drop-off area is about 150 yards down a steep slope, a material detail for anyone bringing a canoe or kayak. Twin Oaks Park offers a simpler neighborhood option with a playground, picnic area, and walking trail. Arnold's daily public geography runs through a college campus, trail segments at different stages of completion, and county parks rather than a single commercial or civic square.
