About Auburn
Auburn is a Logan County city whose name has already had two lives before settling in Kentucky. The place began as Federal Grove, became Woodville, and took the Auburn name in the 1860s from Auburn, New York, the surveyor’s former home. It was incorporated in 1865. The older center sits off Bowling Green Road, with an Auburn Historic District and a welcome mural giving the town more to read than its size suggests. The Logan County Public Library’s Auburn branch is another small but useful thread in the local story.
