Located just south of Eldon along Highway 54, Aurora Springs is a quiet rural community with an interesting past. In the late 1800s, it boomed as a bustling resort destination after settlers discovered local mineral springs believed to have healing properties. Visitors flocked to the area for bathhouses, hotels, and a local sanitarium, briefly making Aurora Springs even larger and busier than neighboring Eldon before the railroad chose a route through Eldon instead.

Today, Aurora Springs blends right into the southern edge of Eldon, offering a peaceful, spread-out setting with quick access to town conveniences and the Lake of the Ozarks. While the grand resort days are long gone, you can still spot old stone steps and concrete foundations tucked along Saline Creek where the springs once flowed.
