About Austintown

Austintown is a large unincorporated community in Mahoning County, directly west of Youngstown. Its township history reaches back to the Connecticut Western Reserve, when Austintown Township was founded in 1793. Today the area is suburban and practical, with Austintown Local Schools, retail corridors, neighborhoods, and easy access to the larger Youngstown-Warren region. Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course, opened in 2014, is one of its most visible modern landmarks. Austintown feels like a busy west-side suburb with older township roots.
