About Avon

Avon is a Hendricks County town west of Indianapolis, part of the fast-growing suburban ring around the city. The first settlement in the area was made around 1830, and the present name comes from the River Avon. Avon sits in eastern Hendricks County, bordered by Brownsburg, Danville, and other county communities, while most of the town is served by Avon Community School Corporation. It has become a family-oriented suburb with schools, subdivisions, shopping, and direct access to the Indianapolis job market.
