Avonmore, PA

Set along the curves of the Kiskiminetas River in Westmoreland County, Avonmore is a quiet, friendly borough with around nine hundred residents. Situated in the Alle-Kiski Valley roughly forty miles northeast of Pittsburgh, it offers a peaceful small-town setting with plenty of green space. Neighborhood streets wind across the hillsides overlooking the water, providing scenic views and an affordable, relaxed place to settle down away from the rush of the city.

The town originally grew as a busy railroad and iron foundry hub, and that heritage still gives the area its classic western Pennsylvania character. Today, Avonmore has settled into a comfortable residential community where neighbors know each other. Residents enjoy spending time outdoors along the river, kayaking and fishing in the warmer months, and taking advantage of the quiet pace of valley life.
