About Baker City

Baker City is a historic city and the county seat of Baker County, Oregon, situated along the Powder River in the eastern portion of the state. Named in honor of Oregon Senator Edward Dickinson Baker, who was killed in the Civil War, the community of approximately 10,200 preserves over one hundred historic buildings within the Baker Historic District. The city is served by the Baker School District 5J.
