Barrington Hills is a large-lot village in the northwest Chicago suburbs, known for equestrian properties, winding roads, and a deliberately rural feel. Czech immigrant families settled along the Fox River in the 1860s near what became part of the village's wider landscape. Today Barrington Hills is affluent and low-density, with Countryside Elementary as the only public school inside the village.
