Basalt, CO
Basalt is a small town in the Roaring Fork Valley, between Glenwood Springs and Aspen. It was first called Aspen Junction because of the railroad connection toward Aspen, and its current name comes from basaltic rock formations on Basalt Mountain. The town is well known for Gold Medal trout fishing on the Fryingpan River, which meets the Roaring Fork here...
