About Beloit

Beloit is a Rock River city in southern Wisconsin, right on the Illinois border. It was founded after members of the New England Emigrating Company sent Horace White west in the 1830s to find a settlement site. The river helped shape the city's early industry, and Beloit College still gives the community an important academic and cultural presence. Today Beloit is also home to the Sky Carp minor league baseball team. It feels like a border city with industrial history, college-town elements, and visible reinvention.
