About Belton

Belton is a Central Texas city and the county seat of Bell County, set along the Leon River between Temple and Killeen. The area has deep Native history, and modern Belton grew as a courthouse town serving farms, ranches, and later a fast-growing regional economy. Heritage Park, Stillhouse Hollow Lake, and nearby Belton Lake give the city strong outdoor draws. Belton also has the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, which adds a college-town thread to its small-city Texas character.
