Benicia, CA

Benicia is a Solano County city on the north side of the Carquinez Strait, just east of Vallejo and across the water from Martinez. It has one of California's better small-city backstories: founded in 1847, incorporated in 1850, and briefly the state capital from 1853 to 1854.
