About Benson

Benson is a city in Cochise County, Arizona, situated approximately forty-five miles east of Tucson. Founded in 1880 as a rail terminal at a crossing of the San Pedro River, the city historically served as a critical transportation hub. Today the community is widely recognized as the gateway to Kartchner Caverns State Park and is home to the Singing Wind Bookshop, a local landmark specializing in literature of the American Southwest.
