Bethel, MN

Bethel is a quiet, small enclave in northern Anoka County, located about 30 miles north of Minneapolis between St. Francis and East Bethel. Measuring just one square mile, the city dates back to Quaker settlers in the 1850s and has held onto its peaceful, rural character over the decades. With Highway 65 a short drive away, it works well for commuters who work around the Twin Cities metro but prefer coming home to open skies and a slower pace.

Outdoor recreation and a close-knit atmosphere define day-to-day life here. Sandshore Lake sits right in town, and the Bethel Wildlife Management Area borders the community with hundreds of acres of woods, wetlands, and open trails to explore. Local gathering spots include a classic city park with a ball field and picnic pavilion, a neighborhood brewery, and the small stretch along Main Street.
