East Bethel, MN

East Bethel is a northern Twin Cities city in Anoka County, with a more spread-out, semi-rural feel than many closer-in Minneapolis suburbs. The area grew from Bethel Township history, including the 1871 split that created Linwood Township, and still has lakes, woods, and larger residential lots in parts of the community. Coon Lake Beach is one of the recognizable local recreation spots. East Bethel is close enough for metro commuting, but its geography points toward the open northern edge of suburban growth.
