Beulah Valley, CO

Beulah Valley is a Pueblo County mountain-valley place whose present name arrived after an older one with a much rougher edge. The settlement was first known as Fisher’s Hole, then as Mace’s Hole, tied to the story of Juan Mace, an outlaw said to have used the valley as a hideout. In 1876 residents chose Beulah, and the post office followed the change that October. The area’s history is kept close to home through the Beulah Historical Society, which manages the cemetery, preserves photographs, and runs a history center. For a place without a formal town government, those local collections do a lot of the remembering.
