Black Canyon City is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in southern Yavapai County, Arizona, located approximately twenty-two miles north of Phoenix. set at the base of the Bradshaw Mountains, the community features the Agua Fria River running through its center. Historically known as Goddard or Cañon, the scenic high-desert town is served by the Cañon Elementary School District and Mayer Unified School District.
