About Black Creek

Black Creek is an Outagamie County village that grew from a 1862 settlement by Civil War veteran Thomas J. Burdick and his son Abraham. The Green Bay and Lake Pepin Railroad arrived in 1871, turning the small lumbering settlement into a trade and shipping point for farm and dairy products. Black Creek Creamery followed in 1894, with Borden’s Condensery arriving in 1917. Today the Newton Blackmour State Trail runs through the village on the old rail corridor, and Founders Memorial sits nearby. Black Creek is a railroad-and-dairy town with its old transportation line still visible underfoot.
