Bloomfield, KY

Bloomfield sits in Nelson County where U.S. 62, KY 55, and KY 48 meet, but its older story runs through Simpson Creek and the farms around it. Dr. John Bemiss laid out the town in 1817, and the name Bloomfield replaced earlier names including Middlesburg and Gandertown. The center is listed as a National Register historic district, with Federal-era buildings giving the crossroads its old Kentucky shape.
