About Bloomfield
Bloomfield is an Ontario County village formed in 1990 when the former villages of East Bloomfield and Holcomb reunited. The town's story runs through the Phelps and Gorham Purchase, a railroad built in 1854, and a Main Street that once held mills, manufacturers, hotels, offices, and a bank. The old East Bloomfield Station and Holcomb business districts now share one village government, while St. Peter's Episcopal Church remains on the historic-register list. Bloomfield is western New York with two older village stories folded into one.
