Bloomingdale, IL

Bloomingdale is a DuPage County village about 25 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Settled in 1833, it is one of the earliest villages in what became DuPage County, though today it functions as a mature suburb. Stratford Square Mall was long its largest shopping center and a major local landmark, even as retail patterns have shifted. Bloomingdale has about twenty-two thousand residents, local schools including St. Isidore School, and a history older than its modern suburban layout suggests.
