Tucked into the scenic bluffs of Grant County, Bloomington is a quiet village of around 700 residents just off Highway 35. Settled in the mid-1800s as Blake’s Prairie, the community grew up as a hardworking farm town centered on its local mill. Today, historic brick and limestone buildings still line Main Street, giving the downtown an inviting, timeless feel against the surrounding rolling countryside.

Families are served by the River Ridge School District, and summers always center on tradition with the Blake’s Prairie Junior Fair in July.
