Blue Ball, PA

Blue Ball is an unincorporated East Earl Township community at the meeting of US 322 and PA 23 in eastern Lancaster County. The 2020 census counted 1,095 residents. New Holland is about two miles southwest, and the roads point in both directions: PA 23 runs northeast toward the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Morgantown and southwest toward Lancaster. That highway geography gives Blue Ball a role larger than its size, with the crossroads carrying farm-country traffic, local businesses, and trips between Lancaster and the turnpike.

East Earl Township handles Blue Ball's local government, and the Blue Ball Fire Company is one visible piece of the community's civic life. The place feels more like a crossroads than a stand-alone borough: a stretch of businesses and homes gathered around US 322, with New Holland close by and the surrounding Lancaster County farm country beyond it.
