Bonneau, SC

Bonneau Beach is a Berkeley County community on the western shore of Lake Moultrie, where the landscape opens from pine country onto broad water. The name can make it sound like a town with a compact commercial strip, but the local reality is residential and shoreline-oriented: boat ramps, lake houses, fishing access, and roads connecting the lake communities with Bonneau and Moncks Corner. Lake Moultrie is part of the Santee Cooper lake system, so the horizon here belongs to a working reservoir far from the Atlantic coast.

Water does most of the organizing. The Berkeley County waterfront network includes boat-launch facilities and a new public beach at the county park in Moncks Corner, while Bonneau Beach itself remains tied to private lots, neighborhood roads, and the lake's fishing and boating culture.
