Botkins, OH

Botkins is a Shelby County village at Interstate 75 Exit 104, just south of the Auglaize County line. Richard Botkin’s townsite was platted in 1858, the post office followed in 1877, and the village incorporated in 1881. The highway gets you there, but the local map is not just an exit: the Shelby House Hotel & Museum keeps the village story in view, Botkins Local School traces organized education back to the 1830s, and Community Park supplies a green space in the village map. Botkins is west-central Ohio with a short route to the interstate, a long school memory, and a town name that came straight from the original landowner.
