Sidney sits along the Great Miami River in west-central Ohio, serving as the county seat of Shelby County. The heart of town revolves around a historic downtown square framed by standout architecture, including the 1881 Shelby County Courthouse, the Gothic Revival Monumental Building, and Louis Sullivan's famous Peoples Federal Savings and Loan building. Surrounding the square is a traditional street grid filled with local shops, civic offices, churches, and leafy residential neighborhoods.
