Boulder Flats, WY

Boulder Flats is a quiet rural community located along Highway 287 on the southern edge of the Wind River Indian Reservation, just a short drive north of Lander. The neighborhood consists of homes and ranches spread across open sagebrush, rolling grassy hills, and wide Wyoming plains. With only a few hundred residents and no central downtown district, daily life here centers on privacy, sweeping mountain views, and plenty of breathing room.

Because the community is largely residential and agricultural, locals head out for most of their daily errands and services. A quick trip down the highway brings you into Lander for groceries, dining, and shopping, while nearby Fort Washakie provides additional community resources. Depending on where your property sits, students attend schools in either Fremont County District 14 or District 21. For newcomers, Boulder Flats offers a peaceful high-desert setting with straightforward access to neighboring towns.
