Bound Brook, NJ

Tucked along the Raritan River in Somerset County, Bound Brook is a small, historic borough with a tight-knit, walkable layout. The town gets its name from the eastern brook that served as an early colonial boundary in the late 1600s, and local history runs deep here, including a notable Revolutionary War battle in 1777. While high river levels were once a major concern during severe storms, a multi-year Army Corps of Engineers flood-control project completely transformed the borough's infrastructure.
