About Branson West
Branson West is a Stone County city with 484 residents in the 2020 census. The city sits where Missouri 13 and 76 meet in the Ozarks, a highway junction close to Table Rock Lake and Silver Dollar City. Reeds Spring R-IV schools serve the area. The name feels newer than the road map: the settlement was first Linchpin, then Lakeview, and became Branson West in 1992, when nearby Branson's tourism boom was changing the whole corridor. Route 76 brings show traffic, lake traffic, and local errands through the same hills.
Silver Dollar City gives the wider area its most recognizable landmark. The park grew from Marble Cave, explored by visitors in the 1880s and opened for tours in 1894, before the Herschends built the 1880s-themed park in 1960. Branson West sits on the western side of that tourism geography, with a smaller city government wrapped around a regional road network. The name change connected the local map to Branson, but the city remains its own Stone County place: highway junction, school district, Ozark hills, and the cave-and-theme-park history just beyond town.
