Brownlee Park, MI

Brownlee Park is an unincorporated community east of Battle Creek, but the census-designated place carries two names: Brownlee Park in Emmett Charter Township and Greenfield Park in Pennfield Charter Township. Raymond Road and Michigan Avenue help divide the Brownlee Park side, while Greenfield Park lies north of Verona Road. Together they form a residential pocket on Battle Creek's eastern edge, close enough to share the city's jobs, schools, parks, and neighborhood services.

The North Country Trail gives the area an outdoor route with a very local shape. A crushed-gravel segment passes through the CDP, continues as sidewalk over the Veterans Memorial Bridge, and joins Battle Creek's Linear Park; the same corridor is part of the Iron Belle Trail and Calhoun County Trailway. Bailey Park lies just west, and the Doris Klaussen Developmental Center adds another civic landmark. Battle Creek's parks make that trail link useful beyond the CDP. Brownlee Park is a place where township lines, a bridge, and a long-distance trail all meet at the edge of Battle Creek.
