Brownville Junction, ME

Set along the Pleasant River in central Maine, Brownville Junction is a quiet community within the town of Brownville. Driving into town takes you under a classic railroad bridge over the river, creating a memorable local entrance. Route 11 runs straight through the neighborhood, connecting residents to Brownville village three miles south, Milo a few minutes further down the road, and the woods toward Millinocket.

Home to around 500 people, the village offers a slow, steady pace of life surrounded by forests and waterways. The community originally formed as a late-19th-century rail crossroads, and trains still roll through the local yard today.
