Caddo Gap, AR

Caddo Gap is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Montgomery County, Arkansas, situated on the Caddo River between Glenwood and Norman. The site is best known as the location where Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto and his forces clashed with the Native American Tula tribe in 1541, after which the expedition turned east toward the Mississippi River, where de Soto died. First listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 39, the community is served by the Caddo Hills School District.
