About Cadott

Cadott’s name reaches back to Jean Baptiste Cadotte, whose trading post on the Yellow River predates the village itself. The present village took shape in 1865, when Robert Marriner built a dam and sawmill, then platted the town as Cadotte Falls. That river connection still makes sense on a map: the Yellow River is Cadott’s main waterway and the village sits in its watershed. The community also leans into its halfway-between-the-Equator-and-North-Pole slogan, a bit of local geography that shows up in the village’s shorthand. Add the Cadott Community School District and the Nabor Days celebration, and you get a small Wisconsin village with a clear name, river, and school tradition.
