About Callaway

Located about 15 minutes north of Detroit Lakes along Highway 59, Callaway is a small town with close ties to the neighboring White Earth Reservation. Day-to-day life is quiet, centered around a local post office, gas station, and a couple of neighborhood spots. The town is home to the White Earth Land Recovery Project, which operates Native Harvest, a popular shop selling locally gathered wild rice, maple syrup, and Indigenous art. Callaway is also the base for Niijii Radio, broadcasting tribal news, music, and Ojibwe programming throughout the area.
