Camak, GA

Camak is a town in Warren County, Georgia, United States. The 2020 census counted 141 residents. The town is located just off Interstate 20 between Atlanta and Augusta. The Georgia General Assembly incorporated the place in 1898 as the "Town of Camak", with municipal corporate limits extending in a one-half mile radius from the Georgia Railroad depot. The short version is that Camak carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now. That is the local read on Camak: its past remains attached to the places people use now. The community was named after James Camak, a railroad promoter.
