Cambridge, PA

Cambridge is an unincorporated census-designated place mostly in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, with a small portion extending into Honey Brook Township in Chester County. The CDP had 576 residents in 2020. Its setting belongs to a rural village network shaped by roads, farms, limestone, and the Pequea watershed. Salisbury Township's history lists Cambridge among villages that grew around country stores and post offices, alongside places such as Gap, Springville, and Mount Airy. Mills once followed the Pequea, and limestone quarries remain part of the township's industry.

Present-day Cambridge has no separate borough government; its administrative footprint follows the two townships and two counties. Salisbury Township continues to handle planning and zoning for the larger portion, and its community park, established in 1984, provides a nearby recreation setting. The surrounding Lancaster County landscape still combines named villages with working farmland, quarries, and local roads. Cambridge is best understood as a cross-township settlement whose daily reference points lie in the broader township network.
