Camden is a city and the county seat of Ouachita County, Arkansas, situated on bluffs overlooking the Ouachita River about one hundred miles south of Little Rock. Historically, the area served as a crossing point on the Caddo Trace, a historic trail connecting Quapaw and Caddo villages. Today visitors are drawn to local historic sites, including the McCollum-Chidester House, which serves as the headquarters for the Ouachita County Historical Society.
