About Carrollton

Carrollton is the county seat of Carroll County, Georgia, about 45 miles west of Atlanta near the Alabama line. It is home to the University of West Georgia, which grew from the Fourth District Agricultural and Mechanical School selected for Carrollton in 1906. The city also has a lively local media and arts presence, including Gradick Communications and the Carrollton Center for the Arts just off the square. Carrollton feels like a west Georgia college-and-county-seat city with Atlanta ties but its own center.
