Castana, IA

Tucked into the scenic Loess Hills of Monona County, Castana is a tiny, peaceful rural community of around 100 residents. Originally settled in the 1860s, the town actually packed up and moved a short distance in 1886 to sit right along the new railroad line. Today, life here moves at a much calmer pace. It is a quiet western Iowa spot where neighbors look out for one another, surrounded by rolling green hills, open farmland, and plenty of room to breathe.
